One of the biggest mistakes I see people making in their blogging efforts is “why” they use them. Most people tend to think of blogging as a primary traffic generation strategy, and it can be, but it’s not THE best use of a blog in our type of business.

You should think of blog traffic more like icing on the cake. The primary and MOST powerful use of starting and using a blog in your business is it’s ability to create a powerful testimonial for you. Let me explain.

I’ve always found this to be a MUCH better option than cold calling leads. I let them get to know me first.

In other words, a prospect who goes to your blog, because of the content and reads about you, is going to take what they read there at face value, where if you’re on the phone telling them the same thing, they’re most likely to say, “Yeah right.”

If you’ve ever called leads, and had that question come up of, “Well why should I join you?” Having visited your blog first will virtually eliminate this objection and ignite powerful curiosity and intrigue about you and what you do.

Because I had content on the blog, I had tons of people finding it for free, and as a result, calls out of the blue from people saying, “Yeah I found your blog, what’s up with your business?” (kinda cool).

So let me share a few things you can do to improve you search engine rankings for your blog posts to enhance your free traffic.

First, do a little keyword research using the Google Keyword tool. Find a few keywords related to business and use those keywords in your blog title, and a few times, along with a few synonyms for that main keyword in your blog post.

One secret strategy that really increases blog traffic is using images.

On blog posts where an image corresponds to the blog post, keywords  tend to get about double the traffic. So find a few images related to your blog post keyword.

Name those images as your main keyword, for instance if a blog post was based on the keyword “internet network marketing,” then  find three images to use for that keyword and  name the images internet-network-marketing1.jpg, internet-network-marketing2.jpg, internet-network-marketing3.jpg etc.

Search engines rank you based on how many other websites link to your post related to your keywords, so when you create a new blog post, write an article with the same keyword and submit it to the major article directories with a link going back to your main blog post.

Find a few other blogs in the niche and comment on a few posts and link back to your blog post.

Create a facebook, twitter, myspace, squidoo account and post some content based on the keyword and link those back to your blog post.

You do that for your blog and you’re ahead of 99% of marketers.

So now that we’ve got traffic down, let’s talk about $$$, how do you make money with your blog? I think the simplest way to make money with a blog from the outset is to simply add Google Adsense to each blog post, not so much because you’ll make a ton of cash from it, but when people do click on your Google Adsense ads on your blog you’ll make a few bucks which is powerful positive reinforcement for your efforts in the early going.

It will fuel you forward. You’ll see money coming in and you’ll get excited.

The best long-term way to make money with your blog though is…

Integrating your blog with your email marketing efforts. I love using the one-two punch of email marketing and blogging because it allows you to change the dynamic of your email messages to your prospects from a one-way conversation to a two-way conversation by giving your prospects the ability to comment back to you.

Getting people involved and commenting on your blog is a powerful way to build trust. Think of your blog as a conversation and you’ll see the bond between you and your prospects growing stronger daily and for it your income will increase.

There are two powerful benefits of turning your emails into a blog conversation.

The first is simply when people get involved and proactively comment they’ve taken a powerful step into your world. The second benefit is a little more sneaky, but extremely powerful.

Say you send a prospect to your blog to share an important post today and 15 people comment on that post. Great!

Well, what if you take the email that you sent people to your blog and add it to your auto responder?

Now the leads that join your list three months from now will get that email automatically via your autoresponder email sequence you set up and when they get to the post not only are they going to get to participate in a conversation you set up on autopilot, but they’ll also see all the people that previously commented and say…

Is Your Prospect Really Just A Quitter?

Here’s an article written by Jose Siandre entitled: Is Your Prospect Really Just A Quitter?  It may help you be a better recruiter.

On the surface this may seem like a very simple question that could be answered by a few of the obvious reasons…

They quit.
They didn’t plug in.
They didn’t participate.

What you want to ask yourself, or maybe even know about yourself, is WHY…

WHY didn’t they follow through, while others do?

When I finally learned the answer to this question, it was quite sobering…

Not only did the reason behind their results come into the open, but the reason for my recent spat of success became apparent as well.

So what’s the answer?

Why do most people fail when a select few succeed?

Those who do succeed have a core desire to do so.

Those who don’t, share that same core level of desire will not.

“Desire… Just look for people with desire and you’ll do great… Yada Yada Yada… Everyone I talk to has the desire to make more money. It hasn’t made any difference so far.”

The difference is in their level of desire.

The only time anything ever gets done in your life – When you follow it through to completion with a sense of urgency, is when you desire to accomplish that task at Core Level of 100 on a scale of 100.

You must accomplish it. It’s a part of you. It consumes you.

It dominates your thoughts above and beyond anything else each day and all day.

These are core desires, and the people who achieve notable success in network marketing, have that accomplishment as a core desire.

They are the ones you see on stage and hear on the training calls.

That’s it.

That’s the secret.

If attaining your goal, whether it be to pay off your credit cards, buy a house, save for retirement, or fire your boss, is not a core desire, and not attached to your networking business, you will not succeed. Period.

The sad truth, is that most people in this industry did not buy a business, they bought hope.

And hope is never backed by true desire.

Hope is for the undecided.

So that’s why people you sponsor quit.

Don’t get frustrated. 80% of people who join you will never sponsor more than 1 rep or customer. Most people simple don’t have the desire at a level of 100 to accomplish their goals through their new business. They just bought hope in order to quiet that little voice inside them that keeps nagging them to make a change.

Once they buy the business, and they don’t make $1,000 in 5 days, they can then justify their fear of change with the “logic” that it just “didn’t work,” and that they knew it was a scam to begin with… 

So sad, yet so true. People are funny aren’t they?

So my question to you is..

What is your desire level to achieve your goal through network marketing?

What do you do each day to build your business? How many books on the industry do you own? How many conference calls are you on each week? How many people do you talk to about your business/product each day?

What would you be willing to give and sacrifice to succeed?

I hope the answer to that questions is “whatever it takes,” because I can promise you the end result is worth the sacrifice.

So how can you tell if your prospect is going to succeed or fail from the very first phone call?

Ask them this question: “So which books are you currently reading on self-development and marketing?”

Anyone who is TRULY serious about being a successful entrepreneur will be able to name at least one book they are reading right now.

My suggestion is that you change your mindset today and get involved. Take responsibility for your personal success and set aside the excuses that have kept you in that JOB for so many years.

Start increasing your value to the world by increasing your knowledge and abilities.

Only then will the world be willing to pay you back with freedom and wealth.

Have you ever checked your Facebook account and before you know it you’ve spent the past three hours playing Bejeweled? You need to focus on using it to build your business NOT playing games and wasting time.

You should use your time building up your profile, creating your fan page and building relationships with other network marketers.

DON’T spend all your time doing everything that you never planned on doing, that includes getting caught up with all the applications that just cause distractions.

DO make connections with people in your niche, this will help you build a STRONG social network. It’s a great opportunity to learn from others around you, especially the heavy hitters in your industry. It also gives you a chance to socialize with others and not make it look like you’re always trying to MAKE A DEAL or SELL SOMETHING.

DON’T forget about the other person. There are many times when you would make a connection and right away not take the time to get to know that person. You should learn about the person you are connecting with. This is something you can do by: Reading their profile, it is important to learn about them. Writing something on their wall. Take the time to make a video introduction. You don’t want to spam others’ walls with advertising yourself. DO remember there are people around. SO…be careful what you write on people’s walls, pictures that you are posting and the groups you are joining. You don’t want the wrong information out there, it can damage your reputation.

YOU CAN make your profile private, but that really defeats the purpose of using Social Media. It is extremely important to consider what you should and shouldn’t do when using Social Media to build your network marketing business. SEO Marketing Basics

So, let’s start with the basics. What on earth is SEO ?

SEO is an anagram standing for “Search Engine Optimization.”

For example, if any website includes this kind of link in their content Your Net Biz and that link leads the visitors back to my website, that’s a backlink. The thinking behind it is the better and the more valuable information you provide on your website, the more website masters will want to link to it.

Wikipedia website ranks very high on many topics because many sites quote it as a source in their content.

Your goal is to become “Wikipedia” website in your field and get as many websites to link to yours as you can, thus causing it to rank higher for your keywords and helping your lead generation tremendously.

#3. RECIPROCAL LINK:
Yet another important SEO principal for your business is called the reciprocal link.

A RECIPROCAL LINK is created when two similar in content websites mutually link to each other.
Reciprocal links are much easier to get than backlinks and many business website owners use this tactic for their SEO.

Unfortunately, although important, reciprocal links will not get you too far with the search engines, since it is so easy to get them.

So, keywords, backlinks, and reciprocal links are really the major concepts you need to pay attention to when optimizing your business site.
