3 Mistakes Most Network Marketers Don’t Even Know They’re Making And How To Solve Them

The network marketing industry is an incredible industry. It’s an industry that gives the average person a real opportunity to go into business for themselves but not by themselves. With that said, simply JOINING a network marketing company is only the first step in your path to success.

Obviously, to achieve your goals you need to get the right training and back it up with action. But you also have to be aware of a few mistakes that network marketers make… that they may not even be aware they’re making.

This article,  highlights 3 of those mistakes and how to solve them:

MISTAKE #1: Most Network Marketers Promote Their Company, Product And Comp Plan FIRST – Whether you’re marketing online or offline, there is a universal rule you need to understand: People buy from and join other people that they like and trust. You can have the greatest opportunity on the planet but if people don’t like and trust you, you’ll have a hard time building your business. Also, doing this doesn’t separate you from the THOUSANDS of reps in your company who are promoting the same product and comp plan.
SOLUTION: Brand Yourself Instead Of Your Company – By building YOU, INC. and establishing YOURSELF as a expert, you build confidence in your prospects that you are someone who can help them achieve their goals. In other words, you give them a reason to partner with you. Everyone wants to partner with a LEADER and by branding yourself as one, you’ll become a magnet.

MISTAKE #2: Most Network Marketers Use Their Company Replicated Website – This doesn’t separate yourself from the THOUSANDS of other reps in your company that are using the SAME exact site.
SOLUTION: Create A Personal Website Or Blog – This is an extension of SOLUTION #1 because having your own personal website or blog separates you from everyone else and helps brand YOU. Sending prospects to a company replicated website doesn’t really create a “connection” with your prospects. Keep in mind, people don’t join businesses, they join other people they like and trust. Because you can add your story, post pics and upload videos to your personal website or blog, your prospects can “connect” with you better than they can through a replicated site.

MISTAKE #3: Most Network Marketers Are Using And Duplicating Outdated Techniques - a lot of the old-school methods of building a network marketing business were EFECTIVE,  offline techniques that have worked, and continue to work, in building an organization. Most of the old-school network marketing techniques are outdated and ineffective… and at the very least, NOT duplicatable.
SOLUTION: Besides Using EFFECTIVE Offline Techniques, You Should Utilize And Leverage The Internet To Build Your Business – By doing this, you can position yourself in front of a TARGETED audience who are ALREADY open to, or looking for, a network marketing opportunity. How refreshing would it be to have a conversation with someone who’s ALREADY open to the idea of making money from home or getting involved in a network marketing opportunity, as opposed to walking up to a stranger at the mall and pitching them on an opportunity… before they even implied an interest that they were open for one. Also, the Internet gives you the opportunity to build an autopilot cashflow systems so you can generate income to offset some of your expenses while building your business.

Network marketing is THE best industry to be in if you’re goal is to design the lifestyle you and your family want… while making a great income. Just make sure you’re giving yourself the best chance of succeeding by branding yourself, standing out from the crowd and leveraging effective techniques to build your business.

Why People Fail At Internet Marketing

This is valuable information for those of you who want to do Internet marketing, entitled: Why People Fail At Internet Marketing. The article was written by Michael Force and contains great information for ways to avoid failure in your Internet marketing business.

Yes, there are people who earn a lot of money with Internet marketing.  I’m one of them.

If you want proof, just take a look at my website.

But the fact is that a lot of people who become involved with an Internet business don’t even come close to the success I’ve had.

In fact, a lot of them fail outright.

Why?

Part of the clue is in the first sentence of this article, in which I said that “there are people who earn money with Internet marketing.”

Because that’s the key word you need to remember: earn. One of the biggest reasons I’ve seen people fail at Internet businesses is that they think that all they need to do is throw up a website and the money will just start flowing.

There’s a name for that,  It’s called the lottery  And it’s for losers.

The other major factor involved in Internet business failures is ignorance. People start a network marketing business with no idea of either what they really want or of what’s possible. They don’t know what companies are good and what to look out for.

But that’s just ignorance. Ignorance is curable—if you’re willing to work at it.

All that said, here are 3 steps to overcoming the 2 major pitfalls faced by new Internet marketers, false expectations and ignorance.

1. The Internet allows you to work where and when you want to. You still have to work. That’s right. Internet businesses are still businesses, and you’re going to get out of yours what you put into it. This still leaves you a lot of freedom. If you want your Internet business as a hobby there’s no fault in that. Just be clear that you’re going to earn a hobby-level income.

2. Know yourself. Don’t just pick an Internet business based on a spur-of-the-moment enthusiasm you have. Before you’re going to succeed at anything, you need to know the strengths and weaknesses you’re bringing to the table. More, you need to know what you’re passionate about besides earning money. You’ll come to hate your Internet business almost as much as your corporate job if you don’t build it around your passions.

3. Research. Research. Research. Knowing the kind of Internet business you want to start is just the first step. Now you need to learn who your competition is. You need to find out if the company or companies you want to affiliate with are ethical and have good reputations. And you’re going to have to wade through a lot of choices of business models, from turnkey systems to creating everything from scratch.

Obviously I’ve just scratched at the surface when it comes to the things you need to learn before you’ll be a success at marketing or any other kind of Internet-based effort.

The whole point of this article, though, is just to give you an overview so you’ll have a better set of expectations and you’ll realize up front that there are a lot of things you need to learn.

But don’t worry. Because while you’ve got a lot to learn, there are lots of fantastic resources out there. Such as the edge marketing system that automates many of your day-to-day functions and offers total training on using the internet to build your business. Things like article marketing, keyword usage and  social networking skills of working with people, so that you get better and better and your people can plug into exactly the same system, making it far easier for you to help them.  With the Edge Marketing system, You also get your own Blog,  capture page and 100 free leads each week. A great way to do that is to try the  system for $1.07. Take action and get started today!

Tax Benefits of Starting A Home-Based Network Marketing Business

Since today is Tax day, ugh! I thought I would provide you with information on the Tax Benefits of Starting A Home-Based Network Marketing Business.   Tax planning makes most of our minds go numb. And paying taxes, well let’s not talk about that. Or maybe we should? Just for a minute, because I actually have some good news for you. No, I’m not kidding! Read on…

Here’s the part you know:

People are being hit hard with the reality of how large a portion of their earnings are going to taxes, income and other.

Here’s something you may not realize:

The average American works until May 5th just to pay their taxes. And many Americans have little or no savings or investments for retirement.

And here’s why I’ve brought up this uncomfortable topic at all:

Enter the savvy person who joins a network marketing business, or starts any home-based business this year. As a home based business owner, many of the things you are paying for now, become legitimate tax deductions.

Things like:

  • Your computer
  • Your internet connection
  • Your long distance and cell phone service
  • A percentage of your rent or mortgage
  • The initial investment or the start-up costs you pay to become associated with your preferred network marketing opportunity, or other business venture
  • Your vacations when combined with the appropriate amount of business

This concept is known as “redirecting expenses”. So why aren’t more Americans aware of this and starting more home businesses?  My answer to that is we were not taught to do so. We were taught to get good grades, graduate and get a job, work hard and be rewarded by our employer. Ah, the good ole days! Life is asking more from us today.

According to Sandy Botkin, the author of  ’Lower Your Taxes Big Time’ and a former IRS Attorney, “You would be brain dead not to start a home-based business.”

I agree to a point. Lots of people with perfectly healthy brains just don’t know what they don’t know. So I’d say, “You’d have to be brain dead ‘if you know the potential tax benefits’ and then choose not to start a home-based business.”

Botkin goes on to say:

  • You will never get rich until you learn to get your taxes down to the legal minimum
  • There are 2 tax systems in this country – one for salaried employees, and one for small/home business owners
  • A home business will make you better off than a second income
  • Traditional job security has declined over the years and will continue to do so, making home businesses more attractive
  • You will probably save $2000 to $10,000 per year by starting your own part-time home business

So what is the answer? Yes this is kind of a trick question.

I may not have “the” answer for everyone, but I have “an” answer that will be right for many. Start a home based network marketing business this year. Even if it’s partime, Starting your own home based network marketing business may be the very best asset that you’ll buy in this lifetime.

I say start a network marketing business because of low start-up costs,  and the personalized training you will (ought) to receive from the person and team that sponsors you. You will have a learning curve to go through to start making money, so it can be beneficial to not have a large up-front expense to deal with while you’re learning.

It used to be that  network marketing  was better suited to those outgoing, super people-person types who loved nothing better than to approach every person they encountered around town and tell them about their business. Or someone who was already well connected, and could build a large organization almost over night based on their established relationships.

These days, you can still be outgoing and connected and succeed in network marketing, that hasn’t changed. What has changed is, if you’re an introvert, a home body, or just too busy living your life to attend hotel meetings and host home parties, you can still build a thriving network marketing business.

With the Internet, websites, discussion groups, blogs, the telephone and consistent action, you can work part-time on your fortune from the comfort of your home.

So,  if you’re considering starting your home-based business and you thought you weren’t cut out for network marketing, consider taking another look. You may not have changed, but succeeding in this particular industry has.

To be long-term successful, you MUST have a marketing system for your Business. The edge marketing system offers total training on keyword usage and in the social  skills of working with people, so that you get better and better and your people can plug into exactly the same system, making it far easier for you to help them. You get your own Blog and 100 free leads each week.  Here is a great way to try the Edge Marketing system for just $1.07.

Social Media Marketing And Your Business

Why is social media marketing important to your business?? Well, Imagine making a friend with someone at an event and you decide to visit them for the first time or they decide to visit you for the first time in your home.

He or she comfortably finds their way to your living room and sits on the most comfortable sofa and puts there feet on one of the coffee tables. How do you feel?

Invaded, disrespected, display of inappropriate behavior, and all those words that you can think of.

Unfortunately that is the case in many social media circles today.

Social networking and social media we are all enjoying today is a place to connect and make new friends while professionally finding proper ways to promote your products or services in a way that does not offend others or be seen as overly aggressive.

In any business, there are ways to do things right.

Below are a few right steps to start a business that I have come to learn and found effective:

1. Select a niche that people want or need and study it to know it well,  so that people will trust you and believe you have their interest at heart.

2. Set up systems that support your business well so you can have control over your business.

3. Select the right marketing strategies that get your message to the right audiences and …

4. Establish yourself as a respected expert and authority in your industry.

These are just a few things that can set you on the right path to business success.

In the same way, social media is a place to socialize and make friends with people all over the world. You also have the chance in social media to achieve all the above if you work it the right way.

Some practical ways you can achieve this :

1. By making friends genuinely and not just to get them signed up for the next money making opportunity.

2. Being always willing to help rather than always wanting help.

3. Become a thoughtful leader by freely giving out information that you believe your friends can benefit from.

4. Show respect to your friends and people’s personal space online.

These might sound very obvious but you wonder how many people still fall short in these obvious ways and create the kind of impressions that they did not mean to create.

No one is perfect but if we take the conscious effort to treat people with respect and consideration we are more likely to get them to support us even without asking.

So are you doing things right in your business and in your social networking efforts?

Is Network Marketing Just a Scam?

Q: Some friends continue to try to recruit me into network marketing deals that seem like some type of money game or pyramid. Other friends tell me they’re illegal and I’ll get into trouble. How do I know what’s legal and legitimate?

A: To help you understand what network marketing is, I must first explain what it isn’t. First, network marketing isn’t a pyramid scheme. Pyramids are programs similar to chain letters where people just invest money based on the promise that other people will put in money that will filtrate back to them and somehow, they’ll get rich. A pyramid is strictly a money game and has no basis in real commerce. Normally, there’s no product involved at all, just money changing hands. Modern-day pyramids may have a product, but it’s clearly there just to disguise the money game.

Network marketing is a legitimate business. First, it’s based on providing people with real, legitimate products they need and want at a fair price. While some people do make a lot of money through network marketing, their financial benefit is always the result of their own dedicated efforts in building an organization that sells real products and services.

Pyramids are illegal and are based on taking advantage of people. For a person to actually make money in a pyramid scheme, someone else has to lose money. But in network marketing, each person can multiply his or her efforts, skills and talents by helping others be successful. Network marketing has proved itself as part of the new economy and a preferred way to do business here and around the world.

Network marketing isn’t about taking advantage of your friends and relatives. Only a few years ago, network marketing meant retailing to, and sponsoring people from, your “warm list” of prospects. Although sharing the products or services and the opportunity with people you know is still the basic foundation of the business, today we see more people using sophisticated marketing techniques such as the Internet, conference calling and other long-distance sponsoring techniques to extend their networks around the world.

Network marketing isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. Of course some people do make large amounts of money very quickly. Many would say those people are lucky. But success in business isn’t based on luck. (Unfortunately, money won’t sprout wings and fly into your bank account no matter what someone has promised you.) Success in network marketing is based on following some very basic, yet dynamic principles.

Now let’s discuss what network marketing is. Network marketing is a serious business for serious people. It’s a proven system where the design, creation and expense the corporate team has gone through becomes a road map for your own success. Just follow the simple, proven and duplicatable system that  good companies provide.

The real key is this: Network Marketing is all about leverage. You can leverage your time and increase the number of hours of work effort on which you can be paid by sponsoring other people and earning a small income on their efforts. J. Paul Getty, who created one of the world’s greatest fortunes, said “I would rather make 1 percent on the efforts of 100 people than 100 percent on my own efforts.” This very basic concept is the cornerstone of network marketing.

For example, most successful people building a network marketing business do so in an organized method. They work a few dedicated hours each week, with each hour of effort serving as a building block for their long-term business growth. Then they sponsor other people and teach those people how to sponsor others who duplicate the process.

By helping the people you personally sponsor to sponsor others, you duplicate yourself. As this process continues, you create compound growth that can lead to hundreds or even thousands of people coming into your business.

You leverage your time by helping others be successful and earn an income from all their efforts.

With network marketing, there are no big capital requirements, no geographical limitations, no minimum quotas required and no special education or skills needed. Network marketing is a low-overhead, home-based business that can actually offer many of the tax advantages associated with owning your own business. Network marketing is a people-to-people business that can significantly expand your circle of friends. It’s a business that enables you to travel and have fun, as well as enjoy the lifestyle that extra income can provide.

Is There A Secret To Success

Here is an article originally written by Jim Straw that caught my eye, “Is There A Secret To Success”

Sorry, I hate to tell you this but There is NO secret to success. That’s the problem.
Most people who say they want to succeed, go around all their life looking for some secret that people like me are sure to know. They just know that if they ever learn that secret they will be successful, too.  Ain’t gonna happen because there ain’t any secret.

All they need to do is start doing something. That’s all it takes.  Once they start really doing something other than searching for the secret to success, whatever they are doing will expand and grow into the success for which they couldn’t find the secret.

Over the past 50 years in business, I have heard it thousands upon thousands of times from success secret seekers. I ain’t gonna get into no nickel and dime business. I want to make millions, not nickels and dimes.

So, they keep buying what they think are secrets. They never do anything longer than it takes to find out they didn’t learn any secrets, they just learned how to work at something instead of making them rich. Then, they go on to the next secret, hoping against hope that the new secret will give them the riches they seek (without doing anything other than knowing the secret).

The funny thing is, they seem to think that I just woke up one morning, learned the secret, and made a fortune. When, in pure fact, I started selling nickel and dime items, door to door, in my youth selling one item to one customer, one sale at a time, making a nickel or a dime on each sale.

As I matured, my endeavors expanded, grew and changed course adapting to the ever-changing economy. Each instance of my growth predicated upon providing what my potential customers needed or wanted. Making sure that I gave more value in return, for the value I received, and even today, I still sell one item to one customer, one sale at a time.

The vast majority of people who say they want to succeed, only want to succeed if they can make it all at once, but just one sale won’t do it. They want big sales, or thousands of sales, immediately. So, when a new opportunity only produces a few sales, they move on rather than making those few sales over and over and over and over until those few sales have grown into thousands upon thousands of sales.

Most of them are looking for someone to help them do it, rather than looking for the tools they need to do it themselves.
If you want to succeed, do something. Let what you are doing lead you onward and upward until you have the success you seek. There are NO SECRETS to it.

Many people know the facts.  Many people have the talent. Many people have the need. Many people have what it takes. But very few succeed because they are seeking the secret to success rather than doing something. SO JUST GO DO IT!

Here’s To your success,

Are you trying to find ways to increase traffic to your website? Here is a wonderful article, Increase sales by driving traffic to your website written by Jessy Rider. I found it to have great value. I think you will too.

Driving traffic towards their website is the primary goal of every webmaster. They know that getting  traffic is the secret of getting more sales and revenues through their websites. Therefore, people always try to divert traffic to their websites through several online marketing and advertising strategies.

Best Ways To Drive Traffic

There are several ways of getting instant traffic towards a website. However, it is always advisable to use only ethically proven techniques. Using black hat SEO techniques in order to get instant traffic is a bad decision as it will not provide sustainable results and there are possibilities of getting their websites penalized.

Some of the most important and proven techniques to drive traffic are as follows:

Blogs and Social Business Networking

These are among the most preferred and effective modes of driving  traffic to a website. Blogs have been a popular internet marketing tool for webmasters all over the world.

Social Networking

Is an integral part of every online campaign. With social networking tools like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, webmasters can target an enormous pool of potential customers living in different parts of world.

Press Release Submission

Is among the quickest way of circulating the message over the Internet. Using press releases, webmasters can increase the credibility of their website as well as let people know about their special offerings and discounts on special occasions. With the help of a press release, a website can cover a wide range of audiences as it is automatically circulated to multiple news sources.

Article Submission

Is the proven technique to drive traffic. Using article marketing, webmasters can create awareness about the need of products offered by them. Through article submission a website can get supporting contents and incoming links to the website.

Link Building

Apart from the aforementioned techniques there are some other traditional modes of driving traffic to a website which are still popular and effective. Manual link building, directory submission, deep links submission, blog directory submission and social bookmarking are among the most powerful link building techniques used by webmasters today. Using the above methods strategically, anyone can drive enormous amounts of traffic to their website and increase their sales and revenues.

Easy submission simplifies the complex task of website submission to search engines, article submission, directory submission, and social bookmarking for optimizing websites.

No More Limits In Network Marketing

Here is a great article entitled: No More Limits In Network Marketing. It was originally written by Michael Force who is someone I follow closely. I know you will each gain great benefit from this.

So you joined your network marketing company.

You spent time—lots of time—learning it inside and out. Practicing your sales pitch. Seeking out prospects. Honing your craft.

Since visitors to this site have all levels of time and experience in the industry, I won’t make assumptions.

But if you’ve been at it a while, you’ve probably achieved a certain level of success.

That’s great! I applaud you. It’s hard work!

But what I want to talk about is taking the limits off your business.

Say what?

That’s what network marketing is all about, isn’t it? Unlimited income?

Yes, absolutely—you’re correct.

But if it’s still you doing all the lead finding, the sales pitching, the closing, the new distributor training, the bookkeeping—you have a limit on how much else you can do.

I’m not talking about what your distributors do.

You will always be eligible for geometric growth that way.

But what about kicking it up a notch—or a thousand?

What about reducing the number of hours you are personally investing in your business?

By automating certain aspects of your business, you free up time for other things.

Like your life. Or analyzing traffic to your website. Or figuring out other sources of revenue.

I’m just saying: There are ways to make your life easier!

Here are some things you can automate in your  business that will help you grow with no limits.

• Lead Generation

You need a system that automatically generates leads and I’m not talking about buying leads. I’m talking about real leads of people interested in your opportunity.

Once you get the lead to your site,  you can also automate the sales process.

Videos  explaining the product and the opportunity can result in you spending your time talking to quality people who get it.

But just like in life, don’t tell the whole story at once. Which brings me to the next point.

• Capturing the Prospect’s Name and Email Address

Having a database of people who were interested enough to give you their name and email address is invaluable.

This can also be done automatically on your site and so can following up with them.

• The Training Process

Training newbies takes time.

But a lot of what you are doing is repeating the same things over and over, dispensing the same knowledge.

So part of your training should be automated via video and a secure,  back office in your business.

You still do one-on-one coaching, 3-way calls, etc., but it takes a lot of the burden off of you.

Many newbies ask me for a step-by-step process for setting themselves up on the Internet. Or how to market their business online. Or how to shoot videos that work.

As you can imagine, that would take a lot more space than I have here!

But To be long-term successful, you MUST have a marketing system for your Business that automates many of your day-to-day functions and offers total training on using the internet to build your business. Things like keyword usage and  social networking skills of working with people, so that you get better and better and your people can plug into exactly the same system, making it far easier for you to help them.  With the Edge Marketing system, You also get your own Blog,  capture page and 100 free leads each week. A great way to do that is to try the  system for $1.07. Take action and get started today!

The Facts or Fictions Of The MLM Business

Just today,  I discovered a great article regarding the facts or fictions of the MLM business written by Michael Force. I was impressed with the clarity of direction Michael put forth. It is a good read with great information for us all. Here is the article:

The multilevel marketing (MLM) industry has faced many challenges to its credibility and to its acceptance as a legitimate moneymaking endeavor over the years. Despite the number of people who set out to start and run an MLM business from the comfort and convenience of their own home, the industry is nevertheless plagued by a reputation of unfulfilled dreams and broken promises. The ledgers are filled with endless lists of people who thought they were changing their future and wound up emptying their bank accounts instead.

The reality,  however,  is that an MLM business can be a very lucrative source of income. Some people choose to operate an MLM enterprise as a side business, augmenting their salary with revenue from their work-at-home venture. Others turn their MLM business into a thriving enterprise that involves hundreds of people selling hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars in products and services. When a business mogul such as Donald Trump heartily endorses multilevel marketing as a legitimate source of income, you begin to wonder why MLM sometimes get such a bad rap.

But today, the argument about whether an MLM business is legitimate or not isn’t really applicable with the advent of the Internet. Old school MLM tactics-which basically gave the industry a bad name-have been completely replaced by automated marketing activities conducted online. And online marketing businesses that leverage the internet can generate literally thousands of leads in a month, far more than the traditional MLM business would generate in a year or more. I know this to be fact because I’ve done both and I can tell you that my old school MLM efforts never came close to producing 5,000 or more leads a month, like I’m doing now.

The traditional MLM business has been replaced by high-tech and highly efficient Internet marketing Enterprises that you run from your home office while tapping into a global marketplace. By learning to effectively leverage the tools provided by the Internet,  home- based entrepreneurs by the thousands are finding dramatic success from their work-at-home enterprise.

This is why I spend so much time developing training programs for my team, and making sure they take advantage of them. I really believe that the key to internet marketing success is in knowing how to do it correctly. By dedicating the time and energy to learning these lessons well, just about anybody can become successful online.

Even before the Internet, a certain number of motivated, dedicated, and committed entrepreneurs were able to take a standard MLM business and turn it into a lucrative career and lifestyle. Today, on the other hand, most direct marketing superstars are making their mark online. Far more people are enjoying the same level of work-at-home success by effectively tapping into the Internet, its tools, and its technologies.

I believe that the key is to find a solid system, master it, and then continuously upgrade the way that you use it. Old school MLM programs were based entirely on the size of the network that you could create. The problem was that most people couldn’t create a very big network. But the old saying still applies-the size of your net worth is directly related to the size of your network.

That’s why the internet is so awesome. The direct marketing networks of today’s industry top producers number well into the thousands. Using the old terminology, with a downline that big, you can’t help but to make money, and a lot of it. And where only about 3% of the people who ventured into MLM were able to make a go of it, today anyone can be successful online.

My advice is this. MLM is still a viable business opportunity, with one major distinction-you need to do it online. Move your direct marketing business-regardless of industry-online, and you will be virtually assured of dramatic success.

I hope you enjoyed Michael’s information.

The Test Of Time

I think you will really enjoy this article entitled: “The Test of Time.”  It was originally written by Michael Force. There is great information here for you.

Frequently in Internet marketing,  we talk about doing things fast.

Responding to the next marketing trend, trying the latest technology, keeping up with changes to product lines, services, and other companies.

We’re all about change and responding to change.

But there is one thing about your Internet marketing business that shouldn’t change very fast or very frequently at all.

That thing is your central sales message.

If you’ve done it right the first time, that message should be good for at least 10 years.

No, I’m not kidding. Yes, I know how much everything else is likely to change in the next 5 years, let alone 10.

Let me use myself and my business as an example.

First,  I was successful as a multi-level marketer. Then I went on to even greater success with Internet marketing.

Yes, those are very similar businesses. But I was trying to attract somewhat different prospects to each, so many of my marketing messages changed to reflect that.

But my central sales message? That hasn’t changed a bit.

My central sales message has always been that I solve people’s problems by helping them achieve what they want to achieve in life. In other words, I teach people how to be successful.

That message hasn’t changed because it doesn’t need to. With it I’ve addressed the basic human needs and motivations of my target market.

After all, who doesn’t want to be successful?

Let’s take another example. What’s the central sales message of Oil of Olay?

You don’t even have to think about this one – it helps women look younger as they age.

No matter how many new products Olay introduces, every bit of their marketing says the same thing. “Use this product and you’ll have healthy, youthful-looking skin.”

When you’re crafting your central message, the first thing you want to do is make a list for yourself of the basic human needs your company fills. What bottom-line motivations will bring people to your company?

While you’re thinking about this message remember that you want it to be flexible. My message has carried across to many different marketing businesses. Oil of Olay even has acne-treatment products for more mature women.

What I’m saying here is that your message needs to allow room for the development of your business and your brand.

So, what is the central sales message of your company? What essential human needs are you filling for your customers? What motivates people to seek out your business specifically?

You don’t have to be fancy about this. In fact, it’s better if you aren’t.

Once you have your central sales message make sure it’s integrated in every bit of your marketing. You don’t have to spell it out for people – after all, how does Oil of Olay “tell” people its message? Olay shows commercials featuring obviously mature women who also look fantastic.

Discover your central sales message. Use it consistently. And in 10 years, you probably won’t need to trade it in for another one.

Here’s To Your Success,
