Fear In Life And Business

Over the last few years in working with many people, I have come to realize that many people experience fear. It is such a shame to see that happen to talented people. Fear in life and business can cripple you. It can suck out and dry up your motivation to accomplish just about anything.

Think about it. The word fear is just a little four-letter word. When you experience fear, you’re experiencing a deep-rooted emotion. As stated earlier, it can stop you dead in your tracks. Here are a few examples of some of the things that create fear emotions.

You fear what others may think about you…

You fear the unknown…

You fear asking questions…

You fear picking up the phone…

You fear rejection from others…

If you experience fear, you really need to see what is causing it. Examine your feelings to understand why you are feeling that fear emotion. Regardless of where you are in life, or what you do, you can’t afford to let fear hold you back.

What I do is say to myself  “WHAT IS THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN?”  If  you can live with that, JUST GO DO IT!

Here is a great video I discovered that we help you examine any fear that may come in your life.

Network Marketing, Why do people run from it?

This is great information written by Matthew Pedler that I want to share with you. How many times have you started to talk to someone about your business, only to get shot down as soon as they find out its network marketing .  Why do people run from it?

It seems to me that people are totally divided when it comes to network marketing; on one hand you have people such as ourselves who know damn well that network marketing isn’t a scam, it isn’t a way to get rich quick by ripping people off, and that some of the most amazing business leaders in the world have set up shop here!

And then we have, sitting on the other side of the fence, the people who when they hear the words “home-based business” or “network marketing” race straight to the barn to find the burning pitchforks so they can run the heretic out of town!

But have you ever really thought about the reasons our industry has received such a bad reputation in some people’s eyes?
Clearly, something must be happening to turn so many against it…
Well in my opinion the only way to begin to fix a problem is by first understanding it.

Here’s what I’m thinking…

In essence some of network marketing’s biggest positives, some of the greatest things about this industry, are also contributing to why it gets a bad image.

For one thing….Anyone can join.

It truly does not matter who you are or where you come from, you can start a business in network marketing.

There really is an open door policy; in fact, many reps will welcome anyone with open arms hoping they are “the one.”

So while it allows struggling, hard-working, honest people a genuine opportunity at financial freedom, it also lets in lazy, selfish, dishonest scam artists, who don’t care what effect their actions have so long as they make money.

Another side effect of this is that people who fail in life due to bad work ethic/habits/mindset, sometimes choose to try network marketing as an “easy solution.”  And when they fail, they blame everyone and everything except the real cause, which is themselves.

And as we all know bad news travels faster than good.

And then we have what I feel is the biggest issue of all…

Plain old ignorance…

So many new reps are told to talk to family and friends, which I agree is an OK place to start, if you think they would be good at your opportunity or if you think you can help them, but network marketing is not right for everyone.

But that’s all they get told, their uplines just keep saying the same thing…

“Family and friends…family and friends… if it’s not working just do more of it… this business is for everyone….talk to ‘em all… ambush them on their way to get a coffee with a cheesy smile on your face” (OK, I made that one up but you get the point)

And we all know how that ends, you end up with a lot of annoyed people watching a rep go nowhere…

Did someone order a bad image with a side of distrust?

OK, so what is the solution? I’m not going to say that I have all the answers, but clearly education is a big step in the right direction.

We need to keep on learning how to build this business the right way, we need to keep teaching our downlines the same.

We need to be scrupulously honest in all our actions, we need to be completely open about what it really takes to be successful in this industry.

I truly believe we can work together to bring about a better image and reputation for network marketing, you only have to look around  to see the amazing leaders everywhere doing just that!

Leaders who you would be proud to work with, people who are working hard to educate and inform.

It’s up to us guys, let’s change the world.

To be long-term successful, you MUST have a marketing system for your Business. What Personality Type is Your Prospect? – How To Sell To The Four Personality Types

When talking to your prospects,  it is important to know their personality type. You need to know the difference between a Type 1, 2, 3, and 4 personality. Knowing this difference could make a real impact on how effectively you can build your business.  In this article, I will give a description of the personality types and explain how you should interact with them while prospecting.

Type 1- Make up about 35% of the population. You will usually find them in professions such as nursing, teaching, and social work. They tend to consider others’ feelings before they consider their own. They are usually very kind and pleasant. They love to help people and do for others. They are usually team players. They are nurturing, patient and supportive. They love their family, so you should be able to build a rapport with them by talking about the kids, vacation and homemaking. When selling to a Type 1 personality, you need to emphasize how your product or service will help them. They don’t like to be “sold.” In other words, they don’t like pushy and aggressive sales people. They need to know that you will be there for them if they have questions after they join your opportunity.

Type 2- Make up about 35% of the population. Engineers, Accountants, and Computer Programmers are a few of the professions that you will find are Type 2s. They are really into facts and figures. They take their time when making a decision. They always want to make sure they are right. They are very organized, accurate and persistent. They love to plan everything out. They tend to over-analyze everything by checking every link and crunching the numbers two and three times just because. When speaking with a Type 2 prospect, make sure to never rush or push them. You need to make sure that you give them as much information as you can. They need to figure out everything for themselves and when they are ready they will call you.

Type 3 - Make up about 15% of the population. They are in professions such as Sales, Entertainment, and Public Speaking. They love to have fun and party. Unlike Type 2s, they hate facts and figures. They love to travel and go on adventures. They love meeting new people. They are very talkative. They are the most creative of all the personality types. They love to do many things at once and have a difficult time focusing. When speaking with a Type 3 prospect, you should emphasize the fun, lifestyle, parties, and the fact that they will get to meet new people.

Type 4- Make up about 15% of the population. You will find Type 4s in leadership positions such as CEOs,  pilots, and attorneys. They are always looking at the bottom line and are motivated by money. They are usually very focused, direct and competitive. They like to be in charge and tell people what to do. They dislike indecision, losing control and whiners. When speaking with a Type 4 prospect, you must emphasize the opportunity to make lots of money.  Let them know that they can be in charge of their own team, and that they will have lots of opportunities to compete.

So you see, knowing the personality types can be great for your online business. If you know how to speak to your prospects in a way that relates to their personality, then you will be able to connect with them more easily. Thus, you will be able to build a large and diverse organization.

Why You Are Making A Colossal Mistake If You Do Not Brand Yourself.

Everything that you do should be to brand yourself, create the YOU brand. Whether you are promoting yourself online or offline, the message must project you not the network marketing company you are associated with.

One of the first things you must do is create your own blog. This is a unique way to tell visitors who you are and what you are up to. Updates can be posted daily or at a frequency level to suit your schedule. But the most important thing is to keep your content fresh and your overall blog memorable.

It is far more important to brand yourself than to brand your network marketing company. People do business with people they have a relationship with, feel comfortable with. Especially in this age of the internet. They will not do business with spammers who flood their inboxes with business opportunity offers (and have not taken the time to build their “brand” before offering their opportunity).

A side benefit of building your brand will be to build loyal followers. Whether you write informative articles, make interesting and tutorial videos or become a social media guru, the goal should be to offer extreme value that those you are reaching cannot wait for your next article, video or social media message. In time they will seek out and return to your blog in an effort to learn more about you…and your brand. (The network marketing company you are with is secondary to YOU. Or that’s the way it should be.)

Let me give you an example. Last week a well known network marketing company changed their business model: they no longer would offer their products through a network marketing distribution network. What this would mean for the “unbranded” representative would be to start over in another company without any following. If, however, you focused on branding yourself and the plug was suddenly pulled from your networking business, you could easily move to another network marketing company and most of your team would follow you…because they believe in the YOU brand.

Again, people will do business with people they have a relationship with…with a brand they know and trust. How do you start to develop this relationship? Create a blog which projects the uniqueness of YOU.

WANT MORE SALES? DON’T KEEP SELLING

Here is an article written by Michael Force with information that will help you increase your results.  Want More Sales? Don’t Keep Selling. You can benefit greatly by following this advice.
No one wants to be sold something . . . they want to buy it. So stop trying to sell.
Instead of selling, you need to solve problems.
People turn off a sales pitch. Don’t have them turn you off, too. Here are some tips on selling by solving problems:
Ask Questions: People love to talk. Especially about themselves. So let them. Be genuinely interested in them. Everyone is interesting if you take the time to know them. So ask questions, delve deep. Eventually, you will hit upon a problem that needs a solution. Listen long enough, and you will know how to present the solution—your product or service.
You are a Consultant, Not a Salesperson: Think of yourself as a counselor or a consultant. Your job is not to push your agenda, but to truly help the other person. Don’t rush in. Hold your tongue and feel your way through it. Show empathy. Get to the root of the problem. When the time is right, present your product or opportunity as if you were talking with a friend. Remember that you are not selling them your product—you are helping them solve their problem.
Tell, Don’t Sell: The key to selling is to tell. Tell your story. How did it help you? Tell other people’s stories. How did it help them? We all love a good story. I’d much rather hear how someone else’s life changed or got better than hear a list of features and benefits of a product or service. So make it personal and tell a story.
You are not Concerned with Sales: It’s as if you have to divorce yourself from the outcome. You can’t care whether you make a sale or not, it’s about the other person. From start to finish. Think long-term. This person may not buy now. But nothing is stopping him from buying later. So sow the seed now, water it . . . and eventually it will push out of the ground and blossom.
You have other things to offer: You are not a one-sided deal. You are a whole human being outside of your product or opportunity. Show that to the world. Here’s where personal branding comes in. If you build a strong enough brand, you can capitalize on it: with e-books, speaking engagements, consultations, your own line of products . . . you name it. So you open up as many other revenue streams as you can. And with each sale, you have another lead for your network marketing opportunity. But that lead is warm to hot, not ice cold.
No Strangleholds: So you had a perfect first encounter with a prospect. She didn’t buy right away, but you feel good about it. You started off on the right foot. So don’t shot yourself in the foot by following up too much. I see it done offline and online, too. I do not want an email every day with increasingly insistent messages. I don’t want phone calls, voicemails, texts, etc., coming at me all the time. There’s no hard-and-fast formula to it. But every day is too much. Every other day is too much. For some people, every two weeks is too much. And then there are those who’d prefer to call you instead. You can tell. People start to ignore your calls. You can never reach them in person. Online, they unsubscribe to your email. They don’t respond to your posts. Don’t get to that point. When it comes to follow up, err on the side of caution. Contact them less than you think they want. Less is definitely more in this case!

It took me 6 months before I decided to start my network marketing business. My new friend Betsy followed up with me but gave me room to evaluate the opportunity without being too pushy.

If you do it right, prospects will know about your product and opportunity. But they won’t feel pushed, prodded, and poked into acting on it . . . until they truly want to and are ready.

Think about it: Those are really the people you want in your organization.

Developing Leadership In Network Marketing, Making Your Greatest Resource You!

In these times of economic downturn, the only job that you have any guarantees about keeping is one where you are your own employer. Working for yourself has been the American dream for far longer than scaling the corporate ladder has, so it is no surprise that the job market is coming full circle, with self employment being the best bet. To succeed at running your own business, it is vitally important that you invest ample time and resources into developing leadership In network marketing. You may think you don’t need leadership skills to be your own boss, but that could not be further from the truth. The skills you can gain will help you to lead even yourself to success.

self employed the american dream

Many people in corporate America have the mistaken idea that the highest ranking person in a company is its strongest leader. This is often not true. Many of the best leaders don’t actually have anyone reporting to them. These people understood that leadership means more than just telling people what to do and when to do it. A true leader is tuned into the people and market around them, and knows how to read the situation correctly. Focusing on leadership development and network marketing can only help a fledgling leader to succeed.

Leadership development and network marketing really go hand in hand. Understanding your networks, both personal and professional, will enable you to make smart decisions about presenting ideas, products and strategies to them. Knowing when to say something is often just as important as knowing what to say, so having that focus and understanding of your network can only serve to improve your chances of success. People are eager and willing to follow those who are successful, so making sure that your leadership skills are as finely honed as your networking skills is vitally important to your success.

Through proper leadership development and network marketing, an entrepreneur can succeed, even in these uncertain financial times. Being accountable to yourself and those around you and emanating an example that you would want to follow yourself can help you to attract the sort of positive energy that the most successful businesses all share. Knowing how and when to share and spread that energy with your network can be the difference between struggling to survive and building momentum. Invest in yourself and watch your business explode.

Article Marketing – The Power of Titles

If you don’t really know how to make article marketing work, then you’re just wasting a lot of time writing the articles.

Why? Because if you don’t have titles that attract and draw people to your articles, then no one is going to read them. Your headline, more than anything else, will determine if your article gets read or not. Without magnetic headlines you might as well give up on article marketing.

Sure your articles are categorized on the different article directories. But if you’re writing for a large niche your competition will be fierce. That categorization alone is not going to get anyone to read your article.

Your headline is the very first thing people see about your article. And when faced with a long list of articles to choose from, people are going to be very quick to judge. And remember, you never get a second chance to make a good first impression.

One of the most common misconceptions about articles online is that people will browse. People may browse at a book store, but not in an online article directory. They are there to learn a specific thing, and then get out and use what they’ve learned. Quick in, quick out. That’s why these directories have search functions. And if your articles don’t have snappy, attracting titles, who’s going to take the time to investigate further.

Suppose your article appears on Google’s search results page. People still have to decide which of the results to check out. You better have a good title in order to get that click.

So how do you create snappy, magnetic titles? Use keywords.

Remember that most people looking for information search for it. They don’t browse for it. They use a search engine, or the search function of an article directory. They are going to use search terms to find what they are looking for. And search terms are the same thing as keywords. Two names, from two different perspectives, for the same thing.

The search function will match the searcher’s search term with keywords used by the article’s author. And if you use effective keywords in your title, (and elsewhere in your article), your article will be matched up with those looking for its content.

Your title needs to use effective keywords. That is the first place the search functions will look. And that is the first place human eyes will look to see what your article is all about.

So, if you want to get the most out of your article marketing efforts, you need to master how to select the most effective keywords, so you can make snappy, clever, attracting, keyword rich article titles.

To be long-term successful, you MUST have a marketing system that offers total training on keyword usage and in the skills of working with people, so that you get better and better and your people can plug into exactly the same system, making it far easier for you to help them.  Mine gives me my own Blog and 100 free leads each week. Big Success With Small Steps in Network Marketing

Here is another great article by Michael Force I call Big Success With Small Steps in Network Marketing. This really lays out the steps to help you avoid becoming discouraged in building your business. It is a great way to look at what we do.

Most big things start small—even the tallest pro basketball player was once a baby.
Great achievements in life start with one single step. They become great 1 step at a time.
Nothing you’ve done in life was accomplished overnight. You didn’t learn to walk overnight: you crawled and then fell a lot when you stood up and tried to move.

You didn’t learn to read overnight—it took 5 or 6 years to master that.
You didn’t get into a car and start driving immediately—and give your Dad or driving instructor a panic attack.
So why do we feel like it’s either go big or go home?

There’s nothing wrong with starting small and growing. A lot of big businesses were built that way.
If you are facing what you feel is an impossible task—like building your business, achieving multi-million dollar wealth, growing a large well-oiled organization—here are some tips on moving that mountain, 1 step at a time:

Break it down
If you have 1 overwhelming goal, break it down into smaller goals.
Let’s say you want a large organization. Your first goal is to recruit 1 distributor. Your second goal is to help that person sign 1 distributor. Your third goal is to continue helping your distributors to sign more distributors.
Or, you focus on signing the next distributor yourself.
That way, at any given time, you don’t get discouraged.
Why not?
You have a goal to work toward, and it’s a small, manageable one you know that you can achieve.
Not like looking at scaling Mount Whitney with puny climbing equipment.

Track your progress
Keep a log of your progress. A spreadsheet, a mark on the calendar—somewhere write down the date you sign your first distributor.
If you want 10 distributors, draw 10 circles and post them somewhere. Then color in or check 1 off as you sign each person. You can even date them so that you can clearly track your accomplishments.
You’ll probably find that the time to sign up the next distributor will grow shorter as you start “rolling.” And that’s a great feeling.
Set up a system so that you can see that, yes, you’ve made progress toward your larger goal. And that you’ve completed a bunch of small goals along the way.

Celebrate every small victory
Don’t wait until you’ve reached the large goal before you celebrate. Life is dry and boring if we don’t put a little fun into it along the way.
You don’t want to lose interest because it’s all work, anyway. So go ahead, go have a little fun when you reach each of those small milestones.

Take setbacks in stride
You might as well face it. You will have setbacks. We all do. But don’t let them sabotage your success. Just deal with them and move on.
It helps during those times to go back and look at your progress. Once you feel that sense of achievement again, you will get back into gear.

Read about successful people
Read the life stories of successful people. You will see that they also had a series of small steps that led to their current stations in life. Even when it appears that someone had “overnight success,” believe me, that person spent a lot of time building up to that.

I think the overnight success mentality is actually harmful to network marketers. It can kill our drive and determination if we expect things to happen fast and they don’t.

Instead, focus on the small victories, and let the big ones catch you by surprise.

Effective Use Of Article Marketing

Here is a great posting done by Joe Remington on Effective Use Of Article marketing… How to Use Articles to Attract Targeted Traffic to You and Brand Yourself as An Expert…

This article is an extention of a post I put on my blog. In it I asked the question I hear quite often. “What can I write about? I don’t know that much.”

When you’re just starting out, a natural thought is, you do not feel like an authority in anything. So you ask, “How do I write articles when I don’t know enough about the subject?

The answer is “Just the Opposite!” You have a lot more to write about as newbie than a veteran to some extent. Here’s why; anything you are learning can be committed to paper.

This is much like a school paper.

In the post on my blog, I said that I learned a valuable lesson that I failed to learn at first. Here it is;

1. Learn a strategy
2. Implement that strategy you just learned
3. Teach the strategy to someone else

Some areas where you may find plenty to write about are:

- How does your network marketing program work, and what can you share about it that you’ve learned (personally – Not your upline speaking for you)

- How you solved a problem you were having in building your home business

- New things you’ve learned, and your thoughts and tips on how you’ve implemented them into your business.

- Your views and opinions in your area of interest

- Resources that you have found that have worked well for you (You could earn a commission on those resources as an affiliate)

- You could (and should) document your experiences online that could be valuable for someone else to learn with step by step instruction

By covering various topics in these areas you will begin to establish yourself as an authority in your area of interest. These are just ideas though; you can keep it as targeted as you want, or feel comfortable with.

A great way to find out what your target market needs is; go to google and type “your keyword” into the search with the word forum after it.

For example, For “Internet Marketing” visit Internet marketing related forums (e.g. Warriorforum). Pay attention to what questions people are asking. Make those questions your assigned topics to write about.

It’s important to do the necessary research (if you don’t already know the answer) and document your findings and conclusions.

Since the same questions are asked over and over again by different people, you will find that you will have more opportunities to share your findings at a later time. The more people you help, the more you will attract success to you.

Still another specific way to find what to write about is to read what other people have written. Then, write your own veiwpoint of the same content in your own words. Don’t highjack their work and not provide value. Just use it as a guide and add your own value to it.

Articles are not hard to write. The people that say writing articles is hard 9 times out of 10 are really just lazy and making excuses. Don’t be mad at me; I know I’m right, I was one of them. Listen, writing articles can be time consuming but they work, so just suck it up and write the articles.

We are all very opinionated and we all have our own point of view, so make it fun and be you.

I hope you have found these tips useful and please leave a comment.. I would love to get your thoughts on this post..
